Buenos Aires, Barcelona, Sitges, Caldes d'Estrac y Argentona son algunos de los escenarios por los que transcurre el rodaje de La Bella Otero, ambiciosa miniserie protagonizada por Natalia Verbeke (El otro lado de la cama, GAL) y en la que participa Televisió de Catalunya, que podría estrenarla a finales del 2007.Basada en una biografía de la artista gallega que noveló Carmen Posadas, la producción repasa la vida de Carolina Otero, desde su infancia hasta su muerte. Verbeke, que admira a la Bella Otero "por su valentía, su fuerza, su gran espíritu de lucha, y su gran deseo de vivir", la encarna hasta los 40 años. Para la madurez de la artista, toma el relevo interpretativo Asunción Balaguer.Bajo la dirección de Jordi Frades (Poblenou, Estació d'enllaç, Crims, Mar de fons), la miniserie cuenta también con la intervención de Montse Guallar, Jaume Comas y Jesús Ferrer.El actor italiano Giorgio Lupano y el francés Matthieu Rozé interpretan a dos de los amantes de la Bella Otero, que reinó en los escenarios más importantes de Europa y América a principios del siglo XX. Vestuario de época traído de Londres, para más de 2.000 extras (con sus postizos de barbas, patillas y pelucas) contribuyen a la ambientación humana en todos esos lugares reales.
